Is this gravel suitable for pathways and driveway entrances? For a high foot-traffic walkway, this size works well as a top layer over a compacted base. It is not recommended for vehicle driveways, where larger sizes provide better stability under weight.
Can it be used in an aquarium or terrarium? Yes, provided the gravel is thoroughly rinsed before use to remove surface dust. The natural white tone enhances plants and colored elements in an enclosed environment. However, check compatibility with the animal species present, as some natural stones may slightly alter water pH.
How many bags are needed to cover a 10 sq ft area? At a depth of 1″, expect 7 to 10 bags to cover 10 sq ft. Coverage per bag ranges from 1 to 1.5 sq ft depending on ground irregularity and desired thickness. For larger projects, the online calculator allows for more precise estimates.
Does the white color hold up over time outdoors? Natural white stone may slightly yellow over time due to moisture and organic matter in the soil. A rinse with clean water once or twice a year is usually enough to maintain its appearance. In areas heavily exposed to fallen leaves or moss, a geotextile membrane under the gravel helps preserve whiteness and reduces maintenance.
