All of our gabions are made of high-gauge, welded, and Galfan-treated steel. Galfan is hot-dipped galvanized steel coated with an alloy made of 95% zinc and 5% aluminum. This solid solution improves corrosion resistance by more than 50% compared to traditional galvanization, and offers a powerful strength to any structure while being lightweight. Our gabions are easy to install and are stackable to create in a multitude of design configurations.
Each gabion includes 6 panels, spiral binders or hog rings, and tie wire. All components are shipped flat and unassembled (assembly tools available for rental). The panels can easily be cut to accommodate any dimensions. The stone filling is done on location for a sturdy and durable structure.

Stones For Gabions
Choose a non-ferrous, non-brittle, and frost-resistant stone larger than 3" in size. You will need about 115 to 120 lb of stones per cubic foot. Ask us about our crushed gray stones for gabions.

Quick installation tips
Consult with a professional to determine the proper specifications and plan requirements based on soil quality, slope, load, seismic factors, etc.
Install a geotextile on a leveled, compacted soil to ensure a solid foundation.
Allow a 5° to 8° incline when building a retaining wall.
Plan for good drainage around and under the gabions to improve stability and longevity of the structure.
Lay the gabion panels out flat in the desired configuration and location.
Do not double the connecting panel when setting gabions side by side or when stacking them.
Plan the correct placement of the provided tie wire to solidify the baskets, prior to filling with stones.
Maintain a constant, even, and compact fill of stones throughout the structure.
IMPORTANT: Make sure to use the bending/tie wires for a complete and solid installation.
